Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
This is one of the most powerful prayers we need to pray. If we are to be like Jesus, we need to have a pure heart like His. The only way we can know the whole truth in our own hearts to be a co-searcher with the Lord. Welcome His reflection of our heart. Welcome His corrections when we are going astray. We can then see our own sins and repent, be healed, and turn from them.
It is always a process. Most of the hidden sins of our heart start so innocently, then if allowed to stay, become strongholds and controllers of our lives.
Psa 15 NLT
Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the LORD, and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.
Psa 19:7-14 NLT
The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living. Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
Psa 26:1-3 TPT
You be my judge and declare me innocent! Clear my name, for I have tried my best to keep your laws and to trust you without wavering. Lord, you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you’ll find it’s true. I will never lose sight of your love for me. Your faithfulness has steadied my steps.
